Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been on cloud nine since he replaced José Mourinho as Manchester United manager in December.

The Special One was handed the sack after the Red Devils' poor start, with the 45-year-old Norwegian appointed as caretaker boss until the end of the season.

Since then, the club won their first eight matches across all competitions. While the Red Devils drew 2-2 against Burnley last month, the former United forward has not faced defeat in the dugout yet.

Sky Sports has done a side-by-side stat comparison between Solskjær and Mourinho in the Premier League this season, which shows how much the club have improved following the departure of the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager.

The current United boss has an 87.5 per cent win ratio and averages 2.75 points, trumping Mourinho's 41.2 win percentage and 1.50 points.

Goals are another area where Solskjær's men have excelled in, hitting 2.5 on average compared to the Portuguese's 1.7.

It's not only football fans that have noticed -- and praised -- the impact of Solskjær at United this season.

Former United player Jordi Cruyff believes that Solskjær has been vital in unshackling the players' potential.

"The quality is there. They are good players. From the outside, he has touched their minds and put an arm around their shoulder," he told BBC Sport.

"They really needed someone to stabilise things and give positive messages, outside and inside the club.

"When players are blocked, they cannot produce. Suddenly, there is an unblock, which probably comes more from the mind because Ole had no time to turn things around based on training.

"That tells you a lot about the players' state of mind."

United are fifth in the Premier League and are two points behind fourth-place Chelsea.

The Red Devils will travel to Fulham on Saturday, but then they will resume their Champions League campaign next Tuesday when they host Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford.
