The British production companies will co-produce the picture which will be directed by Jason Ferguson - Sir Alex's son.

Jason doesn't view the project as a football film. He believes his fathers story will resonate with people from all walks of life.

"I don't see this as a [soccer] film," said Jason Ferguson.

"What really appeals to me is to approach the story from a uniquely intimate perspective and in so doing tell my father's story in a way that will make it resonate with people from all walks of life whether they like the game or not."

Sir Alex is confident his story is in the right hands.

"I have been approached many times over the years to make a film on my life but did not feel comfortable until this point," he said via Mirror.

"When the team behind this project was presented to me, and after we spent time discussing their thoughts and approach on what the film could be, I felt confident that I was in good hands."

Most recently, Manchester City's eight-episode documentary titled 'All Or Nothing' - which was exclusively aired on Amazon Prime - received huge praise across the football bubble.
