Roy Hodgson has left Jamie Vardy and Jack Wilshere on the bench for England's Euro 2016 Group B opener against Russia in Marseille.

Wayne Rooney will lead the side and the forward line at the Stade Veledrome as England go in search of a win to kickstart their European Championship campaign.

Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling pair up at the heart of defence with John Stones omitted, whilst Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Eric Dier partner up in central midfield.

Hodgson has been slated for his decision to leave Jamie Vardy out of the XI:
