Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen on a reunion with former teammate James Rodriguez and wants him to join Juventus this summer.
This is according to Bayern Munich and Germany legend Lothar Matthaus who claims to have been informed the Portuguese wants a familiar face to join him in Turin.
"He is very close to Cristiano Ronaldo and told me that he was in contact with him and that he has told him that he wants to have him at Juventus."
Matthaus went on to say: "I understand why as James can serve Ronaldo so that he can score and the two of them can shine."
When playing alongside Ronaldo, the 27-year-old won a La Liga, two Champions Leagues and two Club World Cups.
Rodriguez has recently completed a two-year loan deal at Bayern and
likely won't have a future at parent club Real Madrid as it was
Zinedine Zidane who let the Colombian leave during his first stint in
Now with Zidane back at the helm alongside a summer spending spree pushing £300 million already, James will likely be sold to recoup funds.
The 27-year-old has already confirmed he will not be returning to Bayern despite the buy clause being reported as £37 million.
He cited the reason for leaving the Bavarians as 'looking for a new challenge' after winning two Bundesliga titles and making 67 appearances with a return of 15 goals.
The midfielder has also been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks but it looks like a reunion with 'CR7' could be on the cards.
Juventus are desperate to keep their star asset happy so signing someone he has enjoyed success with could help push Juventus to the Champions League glory that they crave.
With Maurizio Sarri rumoured to be taking over Juventus in the coming weeks you wonder if he will have Rodriguez on his mind as a possible summer signing.
