The pair have been close ever since their Real Madrid days

Unless you've been asleep all day, you'll have seen that Bild are currently publishing extracts from Mesut Ozil's autobiography 'The Magic of the Game.'

One of the main stories to emerge so far is of a furious bust up with Jose Mourinho during the pair's time at Real Madrid.

The German playmaker was hauled off by the Portuguese manager at half time during a La Liga match with Deportivo La Coruna in 2012, after being called a 'coward' by Mourinho, and then replaced by Kaka.

The extract reads:

"You think two beautiful passes are enough. You think you're so good that fifty per cent is enough."

"He pauses. Stares at me with his dark brown eyes. I stare back. Like two boxers at the stare-down before the first round. He shows no emotion. Just waits for a response from me. How much I hate him right now. And I love Mourinho actually.

"Oh, are you giving up now? You're such a coward. What do you want? To creep under the beautiful, warm shower? Shampoo your hair? To be alone? Or do you want to prove to your fellow players, the fans out there, and me, what you can do."

To show solidarity with his teammate, Sergio Ramos made sure Ozil's shirt made it back onto the pitch during the second half, by wearing it under his own shirt.

Ramos' plan was to defy Mourinho by revealing the shirt should he score. However, doing that wouldn't be necessary as the shirt was visible enough as it was.

It's no secret that Ramos and Mourinho didn't see eye-to-eye during their time together at the Bernabeu and the current captain of Los Blancos wanted to show his boss whose side he was on.
