Shortly after Christian Eriksen scored the second fastest goal in Premier League history tonight, former referee Graham Poll admitted the goal should have been ruled out.

The replays showed that Tottenham striker Harry Kane was standing inside the United half before kick-off, which means that he gained an advantage.

In fact, the goal would have been chalked off if VAR was being used, according to the former official.

"Technically, the goal shouldn't stand." he said on Sky Sports.

Tottenham took the lead after just 11 seconds thanks to a tidy finish from Eriksen, which was the second fastest in Premier League history after United's defence was caught napping.

Eriksen has created 24 goalscoring chances for Kane this season - the most in the Premier League - but it was Kane's contribution this time that gave Pochettino's side an early advantage.
