In terms of working your way to the top, Cristiano Ronaldo is a prime example of working hard to achieve your dreams.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is proof that you can be born with natural talent but to succeed at the very highest level, you must be fully committed to your craft in ways that are unnatural.

To put his incredible will-to-win into perspective, Patrice Evra once told a brilliant story about the former Manchester United winger during his time at Old Trafford which involved a game of table tennis with Rio Ferdinand.

Ronaldo is often praised for his attitude on the pitch and this latest tale shows his elite mentality in even the most casual of situations.

"He's a machine," Evra said on ITV Sport's World Cup podcast. "They were playing table tennis and Rio beat him and we were all screaming."

"Ronaldo was so upset. Then he sent his cousin to buy a table tennis. He trained for two weeks and came back and beat Rio in front of everyone. That's Cristiano Ronaldo."

Evra also gave his opinion on who is the better player between Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi during coverage of the 2018 World Cup.

"Who caused me the most trouble between Ronaldo & Messi?! None of them, but I like Cristiano," he said in the interview with ITV.

"When you saw Cristiano Ronaldo last night, it's down to Cristiano Ronaldo. Today, it was down to Messi and he didn't perform well. I think the players around him should perform much better but Ronaldo had the same problem last night.

"I just feel like Ronaldo enjoys the pressure more than Messi. I think Messi just gets frustrated, but Ronaldo just loves it."

Do you agree with Evra? Does Ronaldo perform better under pressure?
