It was a night of heartache for everyone associated with FC Barcelona.

For the third time in four years, Lionel Messi and co bowed our of the Champions League at the quarter final stage.

And for the first time in years, many recognised that Luis Enrique's side were not the force of old. Lionel Messi looked anonymous as Juventus' defensive wall stopped everyone and everything in it's path.

Ranieri's brutally honest but valid assessment shortly after Barcelona's exit from the competition left plenty to be debated, but it seems a large proportion of the internet feel like his opinions were correct.

The 65-year-old explained his views on Barcelona to BT Sport presenter Gary Lineker, last night.

Juventus produced a defensive masterclass to shut out Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Nou Camp last night.

For the first time in a long time, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez lacked ideas and despite their best efforts, they could not get past the brick wall of Juventus.

Is this the end of Barcelona's dominance in European competition?
