Virgil van DIjk not only warmed the hearts of Liverpool fans following his performance for the Netherlands, but also the mascot.
The towering-defender was a class act on and off the field.
He netted a stunning 90th minute equaliser against Germany to secure a spot in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals and following the international fixture, he consoled a teary-eyed referee whose mother sadly passed away.

"That man broke down, stood with tears in his eyes because he had just lost his mother," he said.
"I wished him strength and said that he had blown [sic] well. It's a small thing, but maybe it helps him."
The Dutch captain also produced a brilliant moment before kick-off.

As the two sides lined up for the national anthems whilst donning their tracksuits, van Dijk gave his jacket to a young mascot who was cold in a superb gesture.
Taking care of a mascot, 90th minute goal and embracing a referee - what a bloke.
