Turkish Newspaper Makes Bold Claim About Loris Karius

It doesn't look good for the former Liverpool goalkeeper.

It looks like Loris Karius' time at Besiktas is not improving after reports in Turkey claim that the 25-year-old will be dropped for their upcoming Europa League tie.

Karius made another huge mistake for his loan club against Malmo in the competition earlier this month.

And now it looks like the Liverpool shot-stopper will not feature between the sticks in an important fixture for the Turkish giants.

Newspaper Fotomac report that manager Senol Gunes is concerned about how much pressure is being placed on the goalkeeper's shoulders at present.

Instead, Besiktas boss Gunes will pick experienced shot-stopper Tolga Zengin to replace the German - a man who has made 86 appearances in a five year spell at the club.

At the start of the month, Karius failed to parry a simple floated cross from the right wing against Malmo, letting it fly over him and into the back of the net.

Although the cross took a slight deflection from Markus Rosenburg's body, it should have been a relatively easy situation to deal with.

But Karius flapped and conceded another unfortunate clanger to make it 2-0 to the home side.

It comes after a flurry of errors in recent months, including those memorable mistakes in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Looking back at the Champions League final, it was a heartbreaking image for those watching at home. Karius sobbed to the travelling support and asked for forgiveness.

Plenty of fans symphatised with the goalkeeper as Besiktas fell to a defeat in the Europa League.

Let's hope he can bounce back and make a real impact at the Turkish side in the coming weeks and months.
