Liverpool have already spent a huge amount on defender Virgil van Dijk this week, splashing £75 million on the Southampton centre-back.

Just days later, reports in Germany believe Jurgen Klopp's side have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham to the signing of highly rated midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to BILD.

Goretzka, who is available on a free transfer this summer, has apparently made up his mind and will move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear that the 22-year-old will announce his decision shortly, according to the report.

The German international has been convinced to join the club by fellow countryman Klopp.

The 22-year old is one of the hottest talents around at the moment and was excellent for his country as they went all the way to claim the Confederations Cup in Russia over the summer.

Goretzka was especially on form against Azerbaijan in a 5-1 win, pulling off a glorious backheel finish to cap off a fine individual performance.

He's been linked with moves to Bayern Munich and Juventus, to name just a number of clubs said to be showing interest, but Liverpool have seemingly won the race to sign the highly rated midfielder.

As you can imagine, fans are ecstatic with the prospect of Goretzka at Anfield:

Thoughts on Goretzka to Liverpool? Is he the right man to help Jurgen Klopp's side to challenge for a Premier League title next season?

Let us know.
