​Claudio Ranieri’s First Fulham Signing Set To Be Fantastic Piece Of Business

Dilly ding, dilly dong, Claudio Ranieri is back!

The former Leicester City manager has made his return to Premier League management with Fulham, replacing Slavisa Jokanovic.

Ranieri's first match back in the Premier League saw his Fulham side beat Southampton 3-2 at Craven Cottage.

Despite their second victory of the season last weekend, they remain bottom of the league on goal difference.

With the January transfer window looming, the Italian manager is looking to strengthen his side for The Cottagers' relegation battle and his first signing could be a sensational one.

According to Tuttomercatoweb per FootballItalia.net, Ranieri is looking to recruit Italian winger Antonio Candreva for his side. Fulham will reportedly be battling with Torino and Premier League Rivals Wolves for his signature.

Candreva, who currently plays for Inter Milan in Serie A, has seen his influence in the San Siro setup dwindle this season, following the rise in prominence of young forwards Keita Balde Diao and Lautaro Martinez.

The 31-year-old cost Inter €22 million back in 2016 from Lazio but has only netted one goal in all competitions this season.

Should Candreva join the Craven Cottage outfit, it would make him Fulham's 13th signing of the season, following their near £100 million outlay over the summer.

Despite the sheer number of signings, Fulham have had issues in their defence, having conceded 33 goals in 13 games.

Ranieri has pinpointed forward Alexsander Mitrovic as the man who could help Fulham escape the drop, calling him 'one of the best strikers in Europe'.

Per Standard Sport, Ranieri explained, "For me Mitrovic is one of the best strikers in Europe,""When I say Europe, let's say the world."He's only 24 years old, he's a fantastic player.

It's important to give the ball to him because he can play as a platform but also as a goalscorer."When the ball arrives in the box he's very, very close to the goal. It's important to give him a lot of chances to score."
