Liverpool and Manchester City are set for a Champions League showdown after the European draw on Friday morning, which has set up a colossal schedule of fixtures for the beginning of April.

The two remaining English teams in Europe's elite club competition will meet in a two-legged tie and begin at Anfield on April 3rd, before a return match a week later at the Etihad Stadium on the 10th.

However, the Premier League fixture list has not been kind to either of them as they clash with their respective rivals in-between the Champions League quarter-finals.

Pep Guardiola's side host their main rivals in the Manchester derby on Saturday 7th April, while a day later the Merseyside clash takes place at Goodison Park between Everton and Liverpool.

Football fans can look forward to a manic opening 10 days of April when club football resumes after the upcoming international break.

Liverpool booked their place in last eight of the Champions League after a comfortable 5-0 aggregate win over Porto and it's the first time since the 2008/09 campaign they have gone so deep into the competition.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been in scintillating form in front of goal this campaign and are considered 11-1 outshots with SkyBetto win the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Man City are still on course to complete a treble after edging past Swiss outfit Basel 5-2 on aggregate and are the second favourites (3/1) behind Barcelona to win the European crown.

Liverpool and Man City have already faced off twice in the Premier League this season, with the Reds inflicting the only defeat to Guardiola's side all campaign.

They managed to earn a dramatic 4-3 win at Anfield, while Man City recorded a convincing 5-0 triumph on their home ground, which was largely helped by a first half Sadio Mane red card.
