The Difference Between Lionel Messi's Reaction To Losing An Award vs Cristiano Ronaldo

As the world's two greatest players for the last decade, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have had to perfect their 'happy loser' award ceremony face when the other one pips them to an individual award.

Back in October, it was the Argentinean's turn to be 'happy just to be nominated' as Ronaldo claimed his second consecutive FIFA 'The Best' award, following a season where he inspired Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double.

Last year Ronaldo beat his foe and arch nemesis Messi to the title after he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and Portugal win the European Championships in France.

The 32 year-old followed up this success by beating Messi to the Ballon d'Or, in the meantime drawing level with the Barcelona forward on five titles each.

We know it didn't happen, but if the Portugal captain did end up coming up short at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, at least we'd have been treated to his 'fuck being happy just to be nominated, I want to win every fucking thing, every fucking time' face

He displayed that exact face during Messi's victorious years, as can be seen in the below video:

While Messi's face this year suggested he was actually alright with his Real Madrid counterpart scooping the award, Ronaldo never fails in showing how pissed off he is with taking a silver medal, which goes a long way to explaining the relentless run of success he has enjoyed throughout his career.

Thoughts on their reaction to losing the award?
