Thurrock FC's Kamarl Duncan Scores The Greatest Wind-Assisted Own Goal Ever

Well it's not that great if your name is Kamarl Duncan...

Have you ever seen a more ridiculous own goal than Kamarl Duncan's incredible wind-assisted own goal for Thurrock FC against Romford? No, I didn't think so.

Duncan was clearly trying to achieve the classic 'get rid' tactic in this Isthmian League Division One North match.

But unfortunately for the defender, this Sunday League punt was taken by the gusty conditions. Don't you just hate it when 70mph winds ruin your day?

Take a look at the below:

After the game, Duncan said it definitely wasn't funny at the time but he did eventually see the funny side.

"At first it was a bit embarrassing and my team-mates were giving me a bit of banter," he told BBC Essex. "But I can see the funny side to it, honestly. At the time it wasn't funny."

"When I kicked it I saw it going in the air and thought 'wow, it's going back' so I tried to get back because I didn't know where the striker was.

"Then I saw it bounce and thought 'the keeper's going to get it' and then when it went in it was a big shock."

Both managers of Romford and Thurrock FC wanted the game to be called off because of the wind.

But it went ahead and well, it produced one of the greatest own goals in history.

Never forget,
