Rooney has been pivotal in his team's journey to the play-off positions in the Eastern Conference, winning 10 of a possible 17 games while bagging nine goals in that time.
The former Manchester United forward once again helped his side to a 1-0 win against FC Dallas on Sunday evening, floating in a long-range free-kick to assist teammate Russell Canouse in the 86th minute.
This isn't the only assist Rooney has contributed to his side's success of late. The 32-year-old has seven assists in his 15 starts, leading DC up the table.
