Mason Greenwood is so young that club photographers aren't allowed to take pictures on his own when training.

And to put into perspective how young he really is, the lad missed England's U17 European Championship tournament in the summer because he was taking his GCSE exams.

Despite those obstacles, though, the youngster's time to shine finally came last night when he made his first team debut for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The 16-year-old replaced Luke Shaw in the second half of Manchester United pre-season tour game against Club America to make history. Some are already tipping him as 'the next big thing.'

Greenwood, who naturally plays as a centre-forward, has impressed in United's youth ranks in recent months, scoring 17 goals in 17 games last season and in arguably the moment of his career thus far, the youngster was called up to the the club's US pre-season tour.

If Mourinho wants a pacey striker who has an eye for goal, then Greenwood could definitely be an option for the future, but the club are making sure the player is looked after properly.

With the pressures of modern day football higher than ever, ESPN report that United are trying to keep the 16-year-old under wraps, like they did with Ryan Giggs when he was in the youth system.

That means that the club have made sure that players under the age of 18 cannot speak to the media - even their official television channel are rarely granted access.

Clearly the talented forward has a promising career ahead of him. It'll be interesting to see how his career unfolds in the coming days, months and years.
