Are you tired of listening to your partner complain about the World Cup this summer? Do you want to watch Harry Kane bag a hat-trick in peace and quiet?

I know, it sounds almost impossible and for many the above scenario is merely a dream but one man has taken drastic action

Stein Spijkerman, 57, has gone to enormous lengths to make sure he doesn't miss a single second of the competition, renting out an entire flat so he can experience the tournament in all its glory.

And it's got a balcony!

Spijkerman has revealed that has an agreement with his wife that permits her to only visit now and then, and when she does visit, she must only talk about football. Nothing else.

"My girlfriend lives in Haarlem and comes by now and then. It is certainly not the intention that they come too often. We have made agreements about this. And you can only talk about football during the match." he told Volkskrant

"Before you know it, you are talking about the offers in the Albert Heijn during Costa Rica - Serbia. That is of course not the intention of a football retreat."

Spijkerman has also claimed to have not missed a single second of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but that's not exactly an achievement.

On the other hand, the fact that he has rented out his own apartment definitely is.

The level of commitment here is certainly admirable, especially when his country, Holland, never even qualified for the tournament after a miserable run in qualifying.

Do you know anybody who needs to rent an apartment to watch the World Cup? Would you go to such extreme length for peace and quiet?
