Cristiano Ronaldo captured the hearts of millions in 2015 when he dressed as 'a homeless person' in Madrid to prank the general public.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, complete with beard, padded suit and dog companion, performed freestyle moves in Madrid's Plaza del Callao as people watched on, unaware that the man behind the suit was in fact one of the greatest footballers of all time.

From trying to nutmeg pensioners to even asking a girl for her phone number, Ronaldo played the part perfectly.

Towards the end of the video, he reveals himself to the public and quickly gains a crowd of hundreds.

And as he embarrasses a young child who challenged him to a freestyle face-off, the masked Cristiano signs the boy's football to then reveals himself as, well, himself - just look at the kid's face, priceless.

Here is that incredible advert from 2015, which eventually picked up more than 30 million views on YouTube,

Ronaldo was injured during the time of filming, so hats off to the Portuguese winger for making a lot of people's day.

Love him or hate him, this video reignites your faith in professional footballers - a great gesture. I mean, just look at this kid's face.

Take a bow, Cristiano, you clearly are up for a laugh.

Back in 2016, Rio Ferdinand launched a defence of Cristiano Ronaldo by insisting that the Al Nassr and Portugal superstar is always up for a laugh, despite what many people think of his sour attitude at times.

Ferdinand and Ronaldo played together at Manchester United for the best part of a decade, winning just about everything there was to win - including the Champions League in 2008.

But despite often throwing tantrums on the pitch and giving team-mates abuse for not passing to him, Ferdinand insists that Ronaldo is actually a fun-loving character, and detailed one particularly funny prank on Sir Alex Ferguson as evidence:

To even consider doing something like that to Sir Alex Ferguson is brave, to say the least.
