Conor McGregor's 10 Year Challenge Post Highlights His Remarkable MMA Journey

Conor McGregor has been through many highs and many lows in his well-documented career, but even the 30-year-old's biggest critic will admit that his journey in MMA has been nothing short of remarkable.

Born on the July 14 1988, in Dublin, McGregor came from humble backgrounds.

Hard work and dedication meant that in 2008 he was finally given the chance to prove himself to the world and boy, did he do just that.

'Notorious' has come a long way since that win over Gary Morris in his first professional MMA bout, where a second round TKO put his name on the map.

10 years after his debut, the Irish fighter has won five world titles. These include the Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight belts, UFC interim featherweight title, UFC featherweight title and the UFC lightweight crown.

His most high profile wins have come against Jose Aldo, Eddie Alvarez, Nate Diaz and Chad Mendes down the years, victories that catapulted his fame.

But it's those wins in Cage Warriors against Ivan Buchinger and Dave Hill in 2012 that stand out as the most important in his career. These were the audition phases before being signed up to UFC.

Conor went on to join the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2013, and didn't lose a fight until 2016 when he lost to Nate Diaz.

If you cast your mind back to March of 2016, Diaz replaced an injured Rafael Dos Anjos to fight McGregor on a short notice at UFC 196.

That wasn't the end, though. The Irish fighter bounced back and proved his doubters wrong in an incredible welterweight rematch against The Stockton Slugger.

It will go down in history as one of the best UFC bouts of all time.

We've witnessed a quite frankly bizarre boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather since then, but what's next for 'Notorious'?
