Liverpool's Fourth Choice Goalkeeper Kamil Grabara Makes Alexis Sanchez Look Silly

Liverpool's Fourth Choice Goalkeeper Kamil Grabara Makes Alexis Sanchez Look Silly

"He sent Sanchez to Asda, Aldi, Lidl, B&Q and Sainsburys..."

For many 19-year-old's, being asked to play in front of 95,000 fans inside the Michigan Stadium would leave you a tad nervous to say the least, but for Liverpool's fourth choice goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, he made it look a piece of cake.

Grabara, who dreams of following in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Jerzy Dudek, was given the opportunity by Jurgen Klopp to start for The Reds in their pre-season game against Manchester United earlier and boy did he take it upon himself to impress.

In one of the many stand out moments of Liverpool's 4-1 win, the young goalkeeper, who was making just his third first team appearance for the club, casually sent Alexis Sanchez to the shops in the 13th minute with a cool piece of skill.

Nobody quite expected such audacity from the Polish shot-stopper, and it was a ballsy move, but thankfully for him, he pulled it off.

The 19-year-old is expected to Liverpool's third or fourth choice goalkeeper this season, behind Alisson, Loris Karius and Simon Mingolet, if he remains at Anfield, but this performance will have done him so many favours with the boss.

He looked cool, calm and collected between the sticks, and let's be fair, he could have done nothing about Andreas Pereira's sublime free-kick in the first half.

Not many fans outside of Liverpool had heard of Grabara before the win, but former academy coach Steven Gerrard gave his opinion on the youngster and it sounds promising.

The Polish shot-stopper made a mistake in the UEFA youth league last season and his manager still praised his efforts and ability to bounce back after saving a penalty later on:

"Nine out of 10 keepers would have felt sorry for themselves and probably gone missing or tried to make up for the mistake in the wrong way," Gerrard said via Liverpool Echo.

"But Kamil was very calm and experienced and bailed the team out on three or four occasions, one being the penalty I was more pleased with his reaction to the mistake and I think that shows he is a top goalie."

Remember the name.
