Just days after Croatia knocked three past Argentina at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, footage has recently emerged of Mario Mandzukic taking the piss out of his opponent, Javier Mascherano.

As Argentina prepared to defend an incoming set piece, the former Liverpool and Barcelona defender had a word.

Mascherano then called Mandzukic when when his back was turned, which sparked the following scenes.

The Croatian striker was having none of it and as he squared up to Mascherano, he looks to make fun of his height.

The 34-year-old, who now plays in the Chinese Super League, took the joke well, but his teammate Paulo Dybala looked fairly shocked at what he just witnessed,

Dybala, of course, also plays with Mandžukić at club level with Italian champions Juventus.

Argentina were beaten comprehensively and manager Jorge Sampaoli has been on the receiving end of heavy criticism after the team's poor display against Croatia.

Zlatko Dalić certainly didn't hold back about his criticism of the 58-year-old, too.

He's majorly peeved because Sampaoli didn't shake his hand after the game on Thursday.

Speaking to 24Sata earlier today, Dalić said: "'Sampaoli didn't even greet or congratulate me after the game."

"I have never left the pitch before shaking hands with the coach of the opponent whether I won or lost. I even gave him a Croatian kit before the game. Now I hope he will remember it forever.'

"You have got to be a man and congratulate the opponent no matter what happens. Sampaoli didn't do that and in my eyes you will never become a big coach if you behave like that."

Thoughts on Argentina's World Cup campaign? Will they manage to progress?
