A Manchester United supporter has rattled fans by naming David de Gea in the 'Greatest Football XI Ever.'

Twitter user @UtdHenry took to the social media platform to lay out the best XI in football history.

And the Red Devils supporter raised a fair few eyebrows from fans after naming De Gea, 28, in the starting XI.

The United shot-stopper had an underwhelming season and was heavily criticised for the errors he made between the sticks.

Ahead of the Spaniard is a back four consisting of ex-Barcelona star Dani Alves, AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini and Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.

If De Gea's inclusion annoyed fans, then they were equally shocked to see the Brazilian left-back in the side ahead of the legendary Roberto Carlos.

Marcelo, 31, endured a poor season for Madrid and fell down the pecking order under former Los Blancos boss Santiago Solari, who would use Sergio Reguilon ahead of him.

The United fan's midfield featured Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo on the left and United icon George Best on the right.

And featuring as the two central midfielders in the side are none other than United legend Paul Scholes and Barcelona legend Xavi.

Brazilian icon Pele is deployed as an attacking midfielder and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is the centre forward.

But it's safe to say that the United supporter hasn't received a warm reception from other fans for the inclusion of De Gea and Marcelo.
