Claudio Bravo's career has gone from bad to worse in recent months.

Not only has the 34-year-old been demoted to number two at Manchester City, but his national side have missed out on a spot at the 2018 World Cup.

Chile's 3-0 defeat to Brazil saw them drop to sixth in the group after David Ospina's error of judgement during Colombia's game against Peru cost them a place at next year's World Cup in Russia.

Colombia finished in fourth on 27 points and took the last automatic qualification spot, Peru finished in fifth with 26 points and will enter the play-off and Chile finished in sixth, also on 26 points, but two goals behind on goal difference.

Shortly after the full-time whistle blew, Bravo's wife Carla Pardo ripped into Chile players, putting their poor performances down to being "hungover"

In a post on Instagram, she slated the national side, saying: "Thank you, Captain America, for all that you have experienced. It was really beautiful.

"But when they put on the shirt it has to be with professionalism. I know that most of them busted their a***s, while others left parties and even did not train because of their hangovers.

"If the cap fits, put it on and stop crying. Because now it is a whole country that is crying."

Following her outburst on social media, Bravo has been kicked out of Chile WhatsApp group, according to Chilean outlet La Tercera, via The Sun.

Chile's 3-0 loss to Brazil swung the goal difference and had they only lost 2-1 last night they and Peru would have had an identical record but, having beaten Peru twice in qualification, it would have been the Chileans playing New Zealand.

The World Cup won't be the same without Alexis and co.
