Xherdan Shaqiri's named his dream world XI and it features three Bayern Munich players as well as Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.

Liverpool face Bayern Munich in the Champions League and ahead of hosting the German giants, Shaqiri has revealed his world XI.

He's opted for former Bayern Munich teammate Manuel Neuer in goal.

In defence, he's selected current colleagues Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson. Dani Carvajal and, controversially, Ramos complete the back four.

More Real Madrid talent make up the midfield in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos not to mention Thiago, who used to be teammates with Shaqiri in Germany.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski spearhead Shaqiri's dream attack.

So, Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino fail to make the cut.

His XI will no doubt raise eyebrows especially with the inclusion of Ramos who infamously 'injured' Salah in last season's Champions League final.

But, to be fair, the Spaniard is still revered as one of the best defenders in world football.

Just like van Dijk. But Liverpool will be without their commanding Dutchman through suspension. Fabinho and Joel Matip are tipped to play at center-back.

The diminutive-Swiss midfield spent two-and-a-half seasons at Bayern Munich, and he's looking forward to the European tie.

"I was very happy because I wanted to play against Bayern Munich, against my old teammates and my old team. I'm looking forward to the game," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It was an amazing time [at Bayern]. Two-and-a-half years I was there and it was amazing; we won a lot of titles, we won the Champions League. We had the best team Bayern Munich had.

"It was an amazing feeling to win so many trophies. I had many great memories there, I will never forget them. I'm really looking forward to going there and trying to win the game in Munich with my team."
