League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers have unveiled their new home and away shirts - but one small details has caused quite the commotion among fans.
Danish sportswear manufacturer Hummel will produce the signature green and black tops for the Green Army described as "100% bespoke designs" in a club statement.

Yet it is the following line from the clubs press release that has turned heads.
"A star is printed above the player name to signify the club's promotion to the Football League in 2017, with two stars greyed-out to represent the chairman Dale Vince's ambition to reach the Championship in the coming seasons."
While not uncommon for clubs and national teams to signify their success with a star above their crest, 'greying out' a star for something that is yet to, and may not, happen is something else entirely.

However, not all fans are on board with the flashy new green outfits, as they feel the disconnect with the clubs original black and white stripes is widening. The colours of club sponsor Ecotricity appear to be here to stay.
FGR became notorious of sorts when they enforce a vegan diet on their players, banned the sale of red-meat products at their ground, created the world's first organic football pitch (which is of course mowed by a solar-powered robot) and were officially certified by the UN as the world's first carbon-neutral football club.

Though you cannot fault the club for saving their fans cash as this new strip will be worn for two seasons. "Making them greener for the planet, and lighter on the wallet for fans, retailing at the same price as last season's kit," the club said.
