Kepa Arrizabalaga pulled off two stunning saves to deny Liverpool from scoring the winner against Chelsea in the Super Cup.

The Reds whipped in a corner and Mohamed Salah's deflected strike was pushed away by the Chelsea shot-stopper.

But Kepa had to quickly scramble back to his feet to stop Virgil van Dijk's rebound from finding its way into the back of the net.

The Spaniard, 24, tipped the ball onto the crossbar and Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta came rushing over to praise his fellow Spaniard.

And Chelsea fans have also taken to Twitter to praise Kepa for his superb double save.

Chelsea opened the scoring in the first half when Christian Pulisic played through a fantastic ball to Olivier Giroud, who slotted it past Adrian with a cool finish.

But Liverpool mounted a comeback in the second half when Fabinho lifted the ball over the top to Roberto Firmino, who flicked it to his right and Sadio Mane poked it over the line.

Blues fans took to Twitter in the first half to mock their club for the fact that Jorginho's name was misspelt on the back of his shirt.

N'Golo Kante also stole the spotlight in the second half when he destroyed James Milner with a fantastic nutmeg.

Liverpool and Chelsea ended 1-1 at full-time and the match has headed to extra-time.
