He was on top of the world. Nobody could stop him coming into this Champions League final but in a heartbreaking scenario of events, Mohamed Salah is now a serious doubt for the World Cup.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his post-match interview that Salah's injury is serious and later, the club's official website released a statement from the Liverpool manager, saying:
"It's a serious injury, a really serious injury. He is in the hospital for an X-ray. It's either the collarbone or the shoulder itself. It doesn't look good, that's it."
Salah was forced to leave the field of play after just 30 minutes after a nasty challenge from Sergio Ramos meant that he landed awkwardly on his shoulder.
