Jack Rodwell's Disappointing Career Has Just Hit Rock Bottom

Remember Jack Rodwell?

The lad who graduated from Everton's youth academy, and eventually signed for Manchester City while being tipped to be a England star?

Well, his career has just hit rock bottom.

After playing just a combined 16 Premier League games for City following his £12 million switch in 2012, Rodwell was snapped up by Sunderland where he's been even since.

Until today.

Rodwell, who's career has been severely blighted with a bunch of injuries, is no longer a Sunderland player after the club have agreed to cancel his contract.

Though ChronicleLive suggests the player informed Sunderland that he wanted to leave the Stadium of Light to embark a fresh challenge.

Sunderland have obliged by canceling his contract.

His time in Wearside will be most remembered for his win drought which lasted an amazing 1,370 days.

Twitter was not very sympathetic to Rodwell's situation. Here's how they reacted:
