Well, his career has just hit rock bottom.
After playing just a combined 16 Premier League games for City following his £12 million switch in 2012, Rodwell was snapped up by Sunderland where he's been even since.

Rodwell, who's career has been severely blighted with a bunch of injuries, is no longer a Sunderland player after the club have agreed to cancel his contract.
Though ChronicleLive suggests the player informed Sunderland that he wanted to leave the Stadium of Light to embark a fresh challenge.
Sunderland have obliged by canceling his contract.
His time in Wearside will be most remembered for his win drought which lasted an amazing 1,370 days.
