How Real Madrid Players Reacted To Drawing Barcelona In The Copa del Rey

The Real Madrid camp appears to be happy with drawing Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid comfortably beat Girona to book a spot in the domestic cup semi-final. They've drawn Barcelona for a spot in the final.

Barcelona or Real Madrid will play Real Betis or Valencia in the final for a piece of silverware.

And ahead of playing Barcelona in the cup, Santiago Solari is happy with how the draw panned out as Real Madrid players wanted to play Barcelona.

According to AS, "Solari's squad felt they had more chances of beating their eternal rivals over two legs."

The semi-final first-leg will take place on February 6th at Camp Nou, with the return leg slated for February 27th at Santiago Bernabeu.

They then meet again in La Liga on March 2nd. That's THREE El Clasicos in the space of 25 days.

Real Madrid's fixtures look pretty brutal from February to March as it also includes Champions League games as well as the Madrid derby.
