Gianluigi Buffon's Doppelganger Is Playing For Panama In The World Cup

Gianluigi Buffon's Doppelganger Is Playing For Panama In The World Cup

Madness.

Gianluigi Buffon isn't at the World Cup this summer thanks to Italy's disastrous run in the lead up to this summer's tournament but worry no more, we have an alternative.

Panama goalkeeper Jaime Penedo featured against Belgium in their opening game of the competition on Monday afternoon and during the national anthem, plenty pointed out the incredible resemblance.

Penedo, who plays for Romanian club Dinamo București, was beaten by an incredible strike from Dries Mertens in the second half, as well as a thumping header from Romelu Lukaku.

But then again, when you look like Gianluigi Buffon, everything will be fine.

Many are predicting that Panama will struggle in Group G, with upcoming games against England and Tunisia likely to be a struggle, but with Buffon's doppelganger in the net, who knows what will happen.

Belgium secured all three points in what was a comfortable victory against Hernán Darío Gómez's side, as Romelu Lukaku looks to secure the Golden Boot this summer.

Do you think Belgium have a chance at the World Cup this summer?
