Jamie Carragher never misses an opportunity to troll Everton - as his latest post on Instagram undoubtedly proves.

The retired Liverpool legend is now one of the UK's most prominent and well respected football pundits, but when the Toffees are brought up, his impartiality seems to fall by the wayside a bit.

The ex-England international was actually an Everton fan as a boy, but it's safe to say his allegiances are now firmly with the Red half of Merseyside.

Throwing back to a rare goal during his playing days, Carragher aimed a withering barb at Liverpool's bitter cross-city rivals:

Remarkably, in 737 appearances in Liverpool's iconic red kit, Carragher managed just a measly five goals, so we can understand him getting excited at the prospect of reliving one - even if it was 12 years ago.

Slagging off Everton, it seems, was nothing more than a fortunate coincidence on this occasion.

Social media would definitely be a duller place without him.

Just hours after Everton completed the signing of Sandro Ramirez, who performed admirably for the Spain U21 side last month, Carragher gave his thoughts on Everton's new signings.

In a tweet captioned: "When Everton sign 4/5 players but none of them would make the Liverpool team! ", @Carra23 linked a picture of Jurgen Klopp wearing a delightful umbrella hat while on holiday.

The picture clearly shows Klopp giving no fucks:

Liverpool supporters have raised questions over the club's transfer activity in recent weeks, but Carragher certainly lifted spirits among fans with this latest jibe.
