Karl Pilkington's Assessment Of Being A Manchester United Fan Is Comedy Gold

He's spot on.

Manchester United fan Karl Pilkington might just be one of the funniest blokes on tele, and his latest quote about the club his supports is entertainment at its finest.

United fans have had little to shout about of late, and a damning statistic from this weekend's fixtures will only dampen spirits in the Old Trafford camp. Mourinho's side are actually closer to the bottom (13 points) of the league than they are to the top (14 points).

The situation at the club is becoming a real issue with fans, including Pilkington, who has compared being a United fan to having a pet tortoise.

"I feel like supporting United is like having a tortoise as a pet. I had a tortoise, and they are not entertaining to watch. You don't watch them, but you know you have got a bit of responsibility to show some interest."

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side are leaps and bounds ahead of their Manchester rivals right now, with a 4-0 drubbing of West Ham at the weekend a perfect example of their dominance.

United's attacking threat is almost non existent at present.

They have created fewer chances this season than Mark Hughes's Southampton and striker Romelu Lukaku has failed to score at home in 14 hours.

Lukaku did put the ball in the back of the net in the second half, but it was ruled out for offside, meaning that his goal drought at Old Trafford continues, dating back to March 31st

That's eight long and painful months for the 25-year-old, who has really struggled for form of late, so much so that Mourinho dropped him for games against Everton and Bournemouth.

So how can they recover from such a poor start to the season?
