Football Fan Reveals His Shock At Boreham Wood's Version Of Cheesy Chips

"Magnificent attempt to style it out with Mayonnaise."

It's a cold Tuesday night in Hertfordshire and the referee has just blown his whistle for half-time.

Wrexham fans have travelled over 160 miles to watch their side face Boreham Wood in the Conference Premier, but to the dismay of many, the first 45 minutes at Meadow Park have been uninspired.

Despite the lack of entertainment, though, the thought of a lovely portion of cheesy chips at the break might lift spirits.

Sorry to disappoint all those cheesy chip connoisseurs out there, but spirits were soon dampened when this Wrexham supporter asked for the above order and received this.

I am fully on board with this attempt to style it out with Mayonnaise, but some may take offence to the slices of cheese slapped on top of the meal.

"Asked for cheesy chips at Boreham Wood. Shocking scenes." he posted on Twitter.

Thankfully for this fan, the cheesy chips incident became a distant memory when Wrexham winger Ben Tollitt scored a brace in the second half.

The away side came away from Meadow Park with all three points, but this lad may have walked out with an empty stomach.

Here's how social media reacted to the "shocking" portion of cheesy chips.

This isn't the first time a portion of cheesy chips has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

A Nottingham Forest fan was willing to pay £6.40 for cheesy chips. With those prices you're fully expecting some Parmesan or mozzarella being sprinkled over those chips but no.

This is what he got.

How much would you pay for a portion of cheesy chips at the football?

Let us know in the comments - this is a very important subject, I'm sure you'll agree.
