Trent Alexander-Arnold was a very, very lucky man after he avoided a straight red card in Liverpool's important Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

The 20-year-old right-back blocked a shot on the line from Salomón Rondón, which was very much going in, but Rafa Benítez's men were still able to pick up an equaliser through Christian Atsu.

Check it out below.

Fans have flocked to social media in disbelief that the Liverpool defender wasn't dismissed.

Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring for Jürgen Klopp's men, and while Atsu was able to pull one back for the Magpies, Mohamed Salah stepped up and restored Liverpool's lead before half-time.

Will Newcastle make a comeback?
