The Incident Involving Romelu Lukaku In Pre-Match Warm Up Is Just Typical

Unlucky.

Jose Mourinho said the reason why Romelu Lukaku has been dropped for their game against Everton is partly down to the fact that he's not just not scoring goals, but fundamentally the striker isn't showing a huge amount of confidence.

It was a decision that plenty agreed with. The 25-year-old has struggled for form of late and as a result, the striker's confidence has been drained, with him failing to find the net in eight consecutive games.

And in an unfortunate, but timely moment during United's pre-match warm up, Lukaku first touch in the session was far from great.

Lukaku called over teammate Alexis Sanchez to warm up together and moments later, the Chilean smashed a ball high in the air, but the Belgian couldn't control the ball properly.

His first touch has been another downfall to his game in recent weeks, but this just shows his sheer lack of confidence.

Plenty of fans reacted to the moment on social media:

Can Romelu Lukaku discover his form in the coming weeks? Was Jose Mourinho right to drop him for today's game against Everton?
