Mohamed Salah's Record Against The 'Big Clubs' This Season Isn't Great

Mohamed Salah's Record Against The 'Big Clubs' This Season Isn't Great

It doesn't read well.

In the 2286 minutes he's played this season, Mohamed Salah has scored a goal every 134 minutes for Liverpool in the Premier League, building on his remarkable goalscoring record in 2017/18.

Despite that fact, however, the 26-year-old's ability to top the goalscoring charts isn't enough for some supporters, who have criticised his lack of goals in 'big games'.

The Egyptian didn't have his greatest game in a Liverpool shirt on Sunday afternoon.

He struggled to make any sort of impact on the game at Old Trafford. In fact, Salah, who recorded a 79% pass accuracy, has failed to have a single shot on target in his last two games at Old Trafford.

Salah has undoubtably had another fantastic season in front of goal, there is no denying that, but his record against the bigger clubs is distinctly average, if not poor.

From games against United, Manchester City and Arsenal to Champions League ties against Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Munich, among others.

The stats don't exactly flatter the Egyptian, despite his impressive season thus far.

So what did his manager Jurgen Klopp have to say about Salah scoring just 2 in 13 big games this season?

"Mo knows that he can play better than he did today." Klopp said in his post-match press conference.

"Lindelof and Shaw did very well together, but I am not thinking about today's game now, I'm thinking about Wednesday night."

Thoughts on Salah's record in big games?
