Mario Balotelli Trains On His Own After Arriving Two Weeks Late For Pre-Season Training

Just days after his proposed move to Ligue 1 side Marseille collapsed, Mario Balotelli has finally returned to his current club Nice. Happy days, right?

Well there's a slight problem. Balotelli has decided to turn up to pre-season training two weeks late after he was 'forced' to return to the fold.

The 27-year-old trained on his own yesterday and was later pictured in the gym as rumours continue to swirl surrounding his future.

French outfit Nice actually released a statement to confirm the former Liverpool striker's return to the club, saying:

"On Tuesday afternoon, Mario Balotelli made his return to the OGC Nice training centre." it read. "After meeting the Nice staff, the Italian striker took part in an individual session, in the field and then in the hall."

As we all know by now, Mario Balotelli likes to live on the edge while his new manager and boss of Nice, Patrick Vieira, prefers a more conservative attitude.

Their relationship probably didn't begin as planned, though, when Balotelli - and his teammate Alassane Pléa - was absent for the first day of the Arsenal legend's first training session.

The new boss said: "We were supposed to have all the players (available). Unfortunately, those two weren't there. We're trying to get to the bottom of it.

One journalist at the conference continued to ask questions about on Balotelli and the former Juventus player added:

"We were expecting him today. He wasn't here and it wasn't foreseen."

Balotelli's situation at the club is unclear: though his two-year contract ran out at end of June, Nice are still after € 10million for his services. Any takers?

What next for Mario? Will he return to the Premier League?

All we know is, never change.
