Water is wet. Grass is green. Mario Balotelli scores the winner and gets a straight red card.

Just another standard day in the life of Super Mario, but in all honesty the former Manchester City and AC Milan striker was unfortunate to receive a red during Nice's Ligue 1 tie against Dijon.

But before his controversial sending off, Balotelli scored his sixth league goal of the season from the penalty spot after Nice winger Alassane Plea was brought down in the area.

It was a typically cool, calm and collected finish from the Italian.

Just a minute before full-time however, Balotelli somewhat ruined his heroic feat by getting sent off after a reckless lunge on a Dijon player.

The 27-year-old proceeded to let his emotions get the better of him, leaving the pitch in fury before punching the dugout.

Moments that a poor official clutched his ear and jumped in shock after Balotelli thumped the Plexiglas.

Here's how social media reacted to the scenes:

Never change, Mario.
