Well, the Premier League leaders have tabled another bid for the Chilean attacker, with a reported £20 million offered. Will Arsenal succumb to the offer with the player available for free in the summer?

Kevin De Bruyne's comments on the whole transfer saga are pretty ominous, too.

In the meantime, Chelsea, who were linked with Sanchez at one stage, hosted Arsenal in the first-leg of the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Arsene Wenger benched Sanchez until he eventually hauled him on in the second half.

But something interesting happened moments before the two teams came out onto the pitch.

Antonio Conte whispered into Sanchez's ear who reacted with a cheeky smile.

Ahead of the bore-draw, Conte weighed in on the situation, predicting Sanchez will remain at the Emirates once the window slams shut at the end of the month.

"For sure we are talking about an important player, about a good player. In my opinion I think Sanchez will finish the season at Arsenal, this is my opinion, I don't know," he said via Evening Standard.

"I don't know what will happen during the transfer market this month because every team can rely on the transfer market to improve, to become more strong.
