Eder's first press conference as a Real Madrid player was worryingly cut short after the Brazilian fell ill.

The 21-year-old was speaking to the press for the first time after completing his £45 million transfer from FC Porto.

But he only lasted a few minutes after he almost feinted. In the middle of his speech, the defender complained of dizziness before making a swift exit.

When Eder was asked about Neymar, he unbuttoned his shirt and took a swig of water before saying: "I feel faint, I feel faint, it's an enormous emotion. I can't do anything more."

Eder was officially unveiled at the Bernabeu in front of thousands of fans after passing his medical.

Before nearly fainting, he expressed his delight in signing for the best club in the world.

"You can expect a competitive player and he will give everything, I will play as if it were always the last game.

"Among my characteristics is to be a versatile player, who always plays for love of what he does and who does not like to lose and I like to be competitive.

"Ever since I was a kid I wanted to play in the best club in the world.

"Thanks to the president and all the Real Madrid players, I'm going to leave everything in the field and I hope to have a great season here and make history, Hala Madrid."
