Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has revealed a screenshot of a death threat sent to him by someone on social media, via his Instagram account.
The 28-year-old has received a huge amount of criticism for recent performances in a Liverpool shirt. In fact, things haven't gone too swimmingly for the Croatian centre back since his move from Southampton in 2014.
He won't mind us saying that he had an absolute nightmare against Spurs at Wembley last weekend, leading to Jurgen Klopp hauling him off in the first half and Lovren has since been bombarded with unnecessary abuse from 'fans'.

The abuse has now lead the Croatian centre-back to post two stories on his Instagram account. The first image reveals a death threat sent to him that says "I'm gonna murder ur family u Croatian prick".
He then responded with the following statement:

The Instagram post reads: "I don't mind when people talk shit about me, it says more about them! But I can not ignore when my family is threatened. I just can't and won't accept that. Disgusting."
Last month, Lovren was criticised by former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann, who won the Champions League with the Reds, after the German trolled him on Twitter:
In the Liverpool Echo interview with the former Southampton defender he admitted to struggling through pain to play in recent matches saying, "I have problems with my whole body for the last two weeks, my back and now I have hurt my Achilles tendon. I am taking pills so I can play, five before every game.

"I play but I cannot train at all. That's why I skipped matches against Manchester City and Burnley."
It doesn't sound good for Dejan right now, but the death threats are out of order.
