In a potentially ground-breaking new regulation set to be introduced for the 2020/21 season, FIFA will reportedly introduce a limit on the number of players loaned out for the 2020/21 season, something that could have huge implications for a number of current Premier League teams.

It is believed that the limit is likely to be between six and eight players on loan from a team, drastically limiting the number of players being sent out to gain experience, according to a report from The Times.

If you look at Premier League clubs with the most players out on loan at this very moment, Chelsea are well known for utilizing the loan system.

In fact, they currently have an incredible 39 players out on loan, including the likes of Tammy Abraham, Michy Batshuayi, Lewis Baker and Tiemoue Bakayoko, among many others.

Premier League champions Manchester City also appreciate sending players out on loan, with 28 players currently plying their trade elsewhere, while Wolves (27) and Brighton (16) are also keen.

With the regulations coming in soon, clubs may have to sell players in order to maintain a realistic amount of talent within their squads.

Imagine 30 players being drafted over to Stamford Bridge - it just wouldn't work logistically.

In recent years, Mauricio Sarri's side have been known to send a huge amount of players on loan but even for their standards, this summer has been busy.

Some promising youngsters have been offloaded this season, with Nathan joining Atletico Mineiro, Mario Pasalic arriving at Italian outfit Atlanta and Lewis Baker linking up with Marcelo Bielsa at Championship side Leeds.

Here's just a few of the names out on loan from Chelsea - it just puts it all into perspective, to be honest.
