Just why were the Italian club thanking Damien Delaney?!

The Irish defender is departing Crystal Palace following a six season spell at Selhurst Park.

He received a warm ovation from the home fans on the last day of the Premier League campaign, as well as tributes on social media including AS Roma.

Unless the Serie A outfit are dropping a hint at a potential transfer. Surely not, though?!
