Incredible stat.

It can take its toll on your body this football malarky. Just ask the king of injuries, Jack Wilshere, who missed a total of 879 days during his time at Arsenal.

Former Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor was another player who was incredibly unfortunate when it came to injuries. He missed over 900 days during his time in the Premier League.

Imagine sitting on the sidelines for almost three years with an injury. Gutting.

For some though, injuries are a complete and utter mystery.

Just look at Barcelona forward Luis Suarez, whonever missed a single game through injury during his three and a half year spell at Liverpool, a stat that may indicate how well the forward looks after his body.

Another player who has incredible luck when it comes to playing almost every game in his career is Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.

Since making his debut in 2009, the World Cup winner has made 472 appearances for club and country and remarkably, he's only ever missed one game due to injury, according to Transfermarkt

A study in 2016 revealed the players who have missed the most days through injury, and further research shows the most injured players since January 1st, 2012.

The likes of Abou Diaby, Vincent Kompany, Yohan Cabaye, Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta are obvious choices in the list while some unexpected names come close to snatching the title.

When it comes to most injuries suffered since Jan 2012, Tottenham's Mousa Dembele and Manchester City stars Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure lead the list with 30 injuries since the start of Jan 2012.

Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge just manages to secure a place outside the top 10 with 24 injuries.

When it comes to most days missed through injury, former Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor tops the list, missing over 900 days out injured.

This study is perhaps the most unsurprising, with the likes of Tony Hibbert, Wes Brown, Abou Diaby and Andy Carroll making up the top 5:

Sturridge, who comes 7th in the list, has missed an incredible 739 days to injury, which translates to just over two years out since 2012.
