Former Juventus Striker Amauri Claims Manager 'Aimed A Rifle At Players For Motivation'

Former Juventus striker Amauri claims ex-Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin once aimed a rifle at his players in a bid to motivate them for a European fixture.

Amuari, who played under Guidolin at Palermo, claims the 62-year-old used a weapon to inspire him and his team-mates, prior to a UEFA Cup tie with West Ham in 2006.

And despite being an unorthodox and rather alarming tactic, it clearly paid off as Palermo went on to secure a 4-0 win on aggregate, despite Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez lining up for the Hammers.

Amauri told Il Giornale di Sicilia, "I'll never forget what happened one afternoon in training.

"We prepared for the second leg of our UEFA Cup tie with West Ham and Guidolin came into the dressing room with a big bag."

The 37-year-old, who currently plays for the New York Cosmos, added: "He then pulled out a rifle and aimed it at all my team-mates and I, exclaiming, 'we've hurt them, now let's go on the pitch and finish them off...'

"I remember that with [Fabio] Simplicio, we managed to hold back the laughter, but it's a nice memory, which I still remember with pleasure."

Guidolin joined Swansea in 2016 and managed to keep the club in the Premier League.

However, the Italian was later sacked during the following campaign, being replaced by former United States manager Bob Bradley. . Even worse for Guidolin, the sacking came on his birthday. Not the greatest present.

What was surprising however, is the fact that Swansea sacked Guidolin and appointed Bob Bradley as their new manager in the very same tweet:
