Ahead of today's clash with Manchester City at Anfield, Liverpool fans will be desperate to avoid a repeat of the 5-0 demolition Pep Guardiola's men inflicted on them at the Etihad Stadium in September.
But the chances of Jurgen Klopp's men not conceding have been dealt a huge blow with the news breaking this morning that new £75 million arrival Virgil van Dijk is set to miss this afternoon's match at Anfield with a hamstring problem.
Van Dijk made a dream start to life on the red half of Merseyside when he scored a late winner during last week's derby against Everton in the FA Cup third round. But it looks as though there will be no chance for the Dutchman to repeat those heroics, today.

The Liverpool Echo reported the news this morning and it wasn't received well by Reds fans who are now having kittens at the thought of Dejan Lovren being drafted back into Klopp's starting lineup to take on the likes of Aguero, Sterling, Sane, Silva and de Bruyne.
