49-Year-Old Dennis Bergkamp Rolls Back The Years With Magical Touch And Strike

He's still got it, folks...

Dennis Bergkamp is quite rightly seen as one of the most technically gifted players the footballing world has ever seen.

The Dutchman made a career out of doing things with a football that you didn't think was possible, and seeing passes that you didn't even see. Both Thierry Henry and Ian Wright, two of his former striker partners at Arsenal, have let it be known that Bergkamp was a dream to play alongside.

And though Bergkamp hung up his boots 11 years ago in 2006, he's proved he hasn't lost a single bit of his technical ability with this sublime solo goal in a recent memorial game featuring Ajax legends:

Not to mention one of his trademark chips toward the end of the clip.

What a strike!

Bergkamp may have lost a good few yards of pace in his old age but he's definitely still got it going off this piece of play alone.

First he plays the ball into the path of a teammate with a deft backheel, before receiving the ball again, turning superbly and curling one into the top bins. Vintage.

It wasn't quite the below, but wow was it good.

The 48-year old was the assistant manager at Europa League finalists Ajax, and as exciting to watch the current crop were, Bergkamp would probably still get into their side purely based on the goal he served up in this game.

The fixture was to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the passing of former player Dick van Dijk.

Take a bow, Dennis. You really were one of the best.
