Rangers will consider whether to stop taking the knee before the Old Firm derby as they await action against the racist abuse suffered by Glen Kamara.

The Scottish Premiership champions are demanding 'unequivocal' action from UEFA after being outraged by the sickening abuse suffered by Kamara this week.

According to the Daily Mail, the squad has discussed if the pre-match protest really sends out a strong enough message.

Dundee United scrapped taking the knee prior to their league match in support of Kamara.

After kick-off, they tweeted: "We stand today with Glen Kamara, and others who suffer at the hands of racism.

"Today's decision to stand rather than take the knee is a show of solidarity by our players to enhance the message that racism in any form is unacceptable and has no place anywhere in society."

Kamara says he was racially abused by Ondrej Kudela during his side's Europa League clash with Slavia Prague on Thursday.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard backed the midfielder and trusts his claims of being racially abused.

Kamara's lawyer Aamer Anwar has since demanded the authorities take robust action against racists.

"As Glen said to me yesterday, since the summer black and white players across the country have taken the knee," he said.

"They have stood in moments of silence and solidarity with those who have lost their lives to racial violence.

"UEFA has a great deal of banners. They have the slogans Show Racism The Red Card and Kick Racism Out Of Football.

"If that is actually to mean anything at all, then they need to adopt a zero tolerance approach.

"For far too long, the responses that black players have got after being subjected to vile racist abuse, whether it be from fans or players, has been extremely tokenistic."
