Cristiano Ronaldo might have won the Serie A Player of the Year while Fabio Quagliarella took home the Capocannoniere (AKA the Serie A Golden Boot), but they both missed out on a spot in the league's Team of the Season.
Well, that's according to OptaPaolo, which has showcased the Serie A's best starting XI for the 2018-19 season based on its data.
So, with Ronaldo and Quagliarella both snubbed in the Team of the Season, let us take a look at the eleven players who made the side, shall we?
Right, the team is lined up in a 4-3-3 formation and Inter Milan captain Samir Handanović secured his spot between the sticks.
In front of the 34-year-old shot-stopper is the partnership of Lazio's Francesco Acerbi and Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, with Juventus' João Cancelo at right-back and Roma's Aleksandar Kolarov at left-back.
Moving into the midfield and Atalanta's Alejandro Darío Gómez and Napoli's Fabián Ruiz are either side of Juventus' Miralem Pjanić.
Napoli's Dries Mertens is out on the left and Atalanta's Josip Iličić is out on the right. Completing the trident attack force is Atalanta's Duván Zapata, who finished the second top scorer in Serie A this season.
When he was the top scorer in Serie A earlier this season, Ronaldo was snubbed in Opta's Serie A Team of the Season.
While the five-time Ballon d'Or winner can't catch a break with Opta, he has featured in WhoScored's best statistical XI in Europe's top five leagues alongside Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.
