Atletico Madrid new boy Joao Felix picked David de Gea and Virgil van Dijk ahead of legendary footballers in his all-time XI.

The Portuguese wonderkid, 19, revealed his all-time XI and has snubbed the likes of Oliver Kahn, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Carlos in his backline.

Instead, Felix's starting XI has Manchester United shot-stopper De Gea, 28, between the sticks and a back three featuring Liverpool star Van Dijk, 28.

Either side of Van Dijk is Real Madrid left-back Marcelo and former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona right-back Dani Alves.

The former Benfica star has chosen Barcelona legends Andres Iniesta and Xavi as his central midfield pairing.

Brazil legend Ronaldinho is out on the left wing and PSG superstar Neymar is flanking from the other wing, while behind the two forwards is none other than AC Milan legend Kaka.

Felix has snubbed Diego Maradona and Pele in favour of choosing five-time Ballon d'Or winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the frontline.

Van Dijk ended a superb season with Liverpool as the Reds finished second in the Premier League and captured the Champions League title.

And the Dutch centre-back also won the PFA Players' Player of the Year and is widely tipped to be a favourite for the Ballon d'Or.

De Gea, on the other hand, experienced a disappointing season after several costly errors for United.

But furious fans have stormed social media to question how Felix included De Gea and Van Dijk ahead of other footballing legends.

Atletico splashed out a club-record fee of £113m to land the highly rated Felix, who was also linked with United and Liverpool.

But the Portugal international's debut for Los Rojiblancos was cut short last week as he was substituted off in the first half due to an injury he picked up against Numancia.

Agree or disagree with Felix's all-time XI?
